Ideas into Business

If you have thought about how nice it would be to work for yourself but have never had the confidence to do it, why not come on this course and see if starting your own business is for you.

This one-day course will introduce you to the world of self-employment and business start-up. It will give you an insight into what it involves the factors you need to consider to determine if it is for you.

Our tutors all run their own businesses and so they can give you a real insider’s view of what it is like. They can help you assess your ideas and help you convert them into a viable business.

Who is this course for?

This course is for those interested in starting a business or becoming self-employed but are not sure how to go about it
It is for residents of Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough aged 19 and over, that are unemployed and claiming either: Jobseekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, or Universal Credit (JCP eligible groups)

What does the course consist of?

Business is about having an idea that has potential to make money and earn you a living. The course will help you to:

  • Find out if you have the right personal attributes for self-employment
  • An insight into what setting up a business involves
  • Discover what the risks and benefits are
  • Where to get help
  • Decide how to take the next steps

This employability course is everything you need to know about finding a job

Learners who complete this qualification are more likely to secure employment and have a significant advantage in the jobs market.
The qualifications develop confidence and motivation to find employment. It equips participants with knowledge to identify vacancies, including the hidden job market, promote themselves, make the most of their transferable skills, and gain behaviours required for the working environment. This is a four-day course and you can achieve Level 1 award.

Are you struggling to find a job? Are you sending out lots of applications but not having any success? Are you feeling downhearted and feel you need inspiration to move back into employment? Maybe you do not even know how or where how to start looking for a job. If so, this is the course for you.

  • Producing a CV that makes the most of your skills, choosing a suitable layout and using IT
