Skills Support for Redundancy offers advice, guidance and re-training opportunities to help people prepare for new careers or business start-up after redundancy.
The programme consists of three stages:

 Stage one Stage two Stage three
Individual Career Planning and Skills Analysis Interview
During the session you will receive career guidance and you will formulate a career and job search action plan. The session can be scheduled at your place of work or off-site.
Skills Training
If you have identified training or up-skilling in your action plan this programme may provide you with the necessary funding. The training can cover areas such as self-employment, interview and job search techniques, vocational courses or the skills you need for a change of career.

Securing Employment
The aim of this programme is to help you secure sustainable employment as quickly as possible. We will therefore assist you to gain the skills, advice and practical support you need to succeed.

 

Whether you are considering a career change, departmental change or self-employment this programme is available to help you succeed.

We can help you with:
Job search and interview skills, moving into self-employment and vocational qualifications to give you skills employers want.

Eligibility criteria

To participate you must be over the age of 19, live or work in Norfolk or Suffolk, be under consultation of redundancy or be under notice of redundancy or have been notified that you may be affected by downsizing or closure or have been made redundant within the last six months from your start date on the programme and be eligible for ESF funding under normal rules.

Under the Skills Support for the Workforce programme you can choose from a number of funded management training areas to suit your and your team’s development needs.

Advanced Health and Social Care

Supporting your staff through an Apprenticeship is a great way to help them develop their skills, but it also supports your business by having high calibre, fully qualified care employees.

Mandatory units:

  • Promote communication in health and social care
  • Engage in personal development
  • Promote equality and inclusion health and social care
  • Principles for implementing duty of care
  • Principles of safeguarding and protection
  • The role of the health and social care worker
  • Promote person centred approaches
  • Promote and implement health and safety
  • Promote good practice in handling information in health and social care settings

The qualifications are achieved through teaching, learning on the job, e-learning, workshops and assessment.

On completion of the Apprenticeship the apprentice must be able to undertake the full range of duties, in the range of circumstances appropriate to the job, confidently and competently to the standard set by the industry.

The Apprenticeship should take a minimum of 12 months.

 

 
 

Intermediate Health and Social Care (Level 2)

The number of adult social care jobs in England in 2015 was estimated at 1.55 million. An increase of 1% and 12,500 jobs since 2014. and these figures have risen in 2016.

The care sector is growing with lots of career options. One of the best ways to get started is by completing an Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care. It is a way to develop yourself and get a qualification while working and being paid.

Qualification

The units below have to be completed successfully.

  • Introduction to communication in health and social care
  • Introduction to personal development in health and social care
  • Introduction to equality and inclusion in health and social care
  • Introduction to duty of care in health and social care

Team Leading - Intermediate

Team leading is an essential skill in any kind of work environment. Good team leaders ensure that their teams work effectively and efficiently, improving the productivity of a team. With our Team Leading Apprenticeship your staff will be  provided with all the skills and knowledge they will need to run a successful team.
The Apprenticeship in Team Leading is stepping stone for you to see who would make a great future manager and could lead to employees developing their management skills on a Management Apprenticeships.


Mandatory Units

The units below have to be completed successfully. In addition to these businesses can decide along with their Tutor/Assessor, which additional units to complete to meet the needs of their business.
