Hours: 8.30am to 5.00pm, or 9.00am to 5.30pm 1 hour lunch 18 - 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility on hours may be required.

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 pro rata 

Purpose of Job

Arrange and deliver a schedule of support for individuals including Information, Advice and Guidance sessions, Employability Skills and varies training courses and one to ones in line with local labour market opportunities.

Prepare individuals to become ‘job ready’ through effective Employability Skills with a quality CV, excellent presentation and interviewing skills and training sessions, build confidence and esteem and to overcome their barriers into employment.

Find clients sustainable jobs and support in work activity.

Present the TCHC skills support offer to employers and individuals, in liaison with Jobcentre Plus, partner providers and other support agencies to engage with and meet contractual KPI’s

To meet individual and team monthly KPI’s and targets as set out by TCHC

Provide a qualitative support service to all clients and to engage and develop strong working relationships with agencies and partners.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of clients, through a journey from start to employment or training
  • Presenting the TCHC offer to employers and clients who have requested support from the programme
  • Interviewing clients on a one-to-one basis, both face-to-face and via the telephone
  • Have an ongoing relationships with local JCP to match vacancies to your client caseload
  • Providing information, advice and guidance about a range of issues, such as careers, education, equal opportunities and referring clients to specialist agencies as appropriate to their needs
  • Working with Individuals, to draw up Individual Learning Plans as appropriate to their needs, with regards to future employment, training and education and supporting them to achieve these goals through regular reviews
  • To implement and support delivery programmes in accordance with contracts
  • Researching careers, options and support organisations to meet individual’s needs
  • Delivering a menu of group sessions on Employability Skills, such as CV writing, Interview Techniques and Job searching skills, confidence building, ICT, networking, team working etc to enhance an individual’s prospects of sustained employment which you will be expected to deliver
  • Work with the Employer Engagement and Recruitment team to support you get the required outcomes for your caseload
  • Building relationships with local employers and JCP to support clients into roles
  • Attend and generate opportunities through marketing and promotional events
  • Reviewing your client caseload weekly, agreeing further actions
  • Using computer-aided guidance packages, skills assessment tools, psychometric tests and personal inventories
  • Keeping up to date with labour market information, legislation, and professional and academic developments by visiting employers, training providers and training events run by educational and professional bodies
  • Responsible for ensuring processes, protocols and administration is in place to deliver successful audits both internal and external
  • Work alongside Marketing and the Project Manager to develop and collect case studies to support future work
  • Recording statistical data and producing progress reports weekly for TCHC Managers
  • In addition, the post holder may be asked to carry out other reasonable duties, appropriate to their experience, qualifications and level.

Skills and Attributes









NVQ in Advice and Guidance


PTLLS, Certificate of Education or PGCE qualification



Knowledge / Technical Skills


In depth  knowledge of colleges, higher education, independent training providers, etc.


Basic understanding of HR practice.


In depth Knowledge of the Local Labour Market and trends.


Exceptional organisational and administrative skills with an absolute eye to quality and detail


Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint – intermediate competency required.


Able to organise your own caseload, provision, appointments and client reviews





Proven and successful record of working with employers and disadvantaged adults in providing IAG, career guidance, advice and delivering training  courses.


Experience of delivering presentations to client groups alone and in conjunction with other agencies


Experience of recruiting clients into sustained jobs and maintaining relationships with employers
