Learner Engagement Executive

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm OR 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, 1 hour lunch, 37.5 hours per week
Location: Watford HQ will require travel to other offices (East of England)
Contract Type:  Full time
Salary Band: £20,000 - £24,000 per annum pro rata 

Purpose of the Job

TCHC has a requirement for a Learner Engagement Executive who will be responsible for overseeing the placement of young people and apprentices with local employers with a focus on the Digital and Information Technology Sector.

They will work closely with the Business Development Executive to develop excellent relationships with local employers, Schools and Local authorities to ensure the continuous flow of candidates to match with all TCHC Apprenticeship vacancies. 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

The successful applicant will have a proven track record of networking with Schools, Colleges and Universities. They will be an excellent communicator who can present at all levels within an organisation. They must also be able to understand and communicate effectively with young people.

You will play a pivotal part in recruiting and placing young people with local employers onto our Apprenticeship programs.

  • Interview candidates by phone and in person to determine their suitability for the Apprenticeship and/or Employer placement
  • Work within a team to engage applications and progress against performance targets
  • Ensure that selected applicants are prepared for employment particularly those without an employer and ensure they have all the tools, CVs and Employability Skills required.
  • Working closely with Recruitment Executives and Gateway Team within the business around learner transition
  • Support candidates with Employability and guidance sessions in preparation for Apprenticeship employment placements. 

Note: These duties are a guide to the work the post holder will initially be required to undertake. Amendments may be made from time to time as the role evolves and to meet changing circumstances and these do not form part of the contract of employment. 
 
Enhanced DBS checks will be a requirement for this position

Skills and Attributes

Qualifications

Essential Desirable
Educated to ‘A’ Level or above, or with a relevant NVQ, or comparable relevant experience or training x  
     
Knowledge / Technical Skills    
Proven business development abilities and experience of working in a target-driven environment x  
Experience of presenting at various levels, particularly to young people x  
Proven networking skills x  
Ability to organise and prioritise large workloads for different projects to ensure timely funding submissions x  
Experience of working with young people and offering advice and guidance x  
Experience and knowledge of interviewing x  
A full, clean drivers licence, access to own vehicle  x  
Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint – intermediate competency required.    
Experience    
Previous experience of working in a busy training or recruitment team.  General knowledge about types of training provider –  colleges, higher education, independent, etc.  x
