Accounting Apprenticeships are another route to an exciting career in accounting. The Assistant Accountant and Professional Accountant Technician include sought after ATT qualifications for the finance sector. An Accounting Apprenticeship not only gives you the qualifications needed to become an Accountant, but also highly valued workplace experience.

AAT are the leading awarding body in the finance sector. They guarantee a rigorous, up to date standard and are industry focused with a global reputation. The qualification counts towards the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF). Choose our AAT course and you will be studying for the industry standard.

Assistant Accountant Level 3

The Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship develop the knowledge and skills needed to start a financial career. .

An Assistant Accountant provides support to internal and external customers and works within a practice or alternatively within the finance function of an organisation. Part of this role involves assisting in the day-to-day financial activities such as data entry to month-end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements. In addition, the Assistant Accountant may find themselves involved in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns or assisting in the preparation of tax computations.

Successful completion of the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship will award:
  • Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3)
  • Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping (Level 2).

 

Apprentices must also achieve Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English, if they have not already attained an equivalent qualification.

The qualification is expected to last between 15 - 18 months.

  • On top of ensuring full competency as an Assistant Accountant, this standard provides the foundation to progress in the accounting sector, including: Audit Trainee, Corporate Recovery Analyst, Credit Controller or Tax Accountant.
  • This qualification is ideal for those wishing to continue studying and advance on to the Level 4 qualification.

Professional Accountant/Taxation Technician Level 4

Individuals in the role of a Professional Accounting/Tax Technician will have responsibility for creating, and/or verifying and reviewing, accurate and timely financial information within the organisation in which they are employed or on behalf of another organisation. This will be performed to meet relevant ethical, professional and legal standards, and will utilise the individual’s knowledge of the business systems and processes, as well as standard accounting and tax practices. This role may exist in an accounting practice, a professional services company, HMRC or the accounting function of a business or other organisation.

The apprentice will study for AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting Level 4 and can focus on either tax or accounting.

Successful completion of the Apprenticeship will award:
  • Professional Accounting/Taxation Technician Apprenticeships Level 4.
  • ATT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4).

 

Apprentices must also achieve Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English if they have not already attained an equivalent qualification.

The qualification is expected to last between 15 - 18 months.
