Mental Health Awareness Week

At TCHC GAPS

During Mental Health Awareness Week, learners at TCHC’s Fengate centre took part in a range of activities focused on wellbeing, personal development, and encouraging positive conversations around mental health.

The centre proudly joined Mind’s Big Brunch, with staff wearing green and coming together for a shared brunch designed to create a relaxed space for open discussion around mental health and wellbeing. Learners took part in cooking activities, worked collaboratively, and supported one another throughout the day, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment across the centre.

Alongside the wellbeing focus, learners also welcomed Jenny and PC Boddington, who delivered informative sessions on driver, passenger, and road safety. These sessions highlighted the importance of making safe and responsible choices, while providing practical advice that learners can apply in everyday situations.

Although exam season is now underway, the week reinforced the value of enrichment activities beyond the classroom. It provided learners with opportunities to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and engage in meaningful conversations around wellbeing and personal responsibility.

Overall, Mental Health Awareness Week at Fengate offered a valuable opportunity for learners to reflect, connect, and support one another, while reinforcing the importance of wellbeing as part of everyday life at TCHC.
