A Special Visit from Jen Craft MP
Engaging Learners with Real-World Politics
We were delighted to welcome Jen Craft MP for Thurrock to our Thurrock Centre this week. Opportunities like this are an important part of our commitment to giving learners real-world experiences that connect their studies to current issues and civic life.
Jen spoke to our learners about the Labour Party’s priorities and the work being done in government to improve education, employment, and opportunities for young people. She also shared insights into how Parliament works and how individuals can influence change in their communities.
Our learners took full advantage of the opportunity to ask questions and express their views, particularly around what more the government can do to support individuals with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). The discussion was open, honest, and full of thoughtful ideas.
The visit was inspiring for our learners and showed them that young people can make a difference.
Jen was impressed by the enthusiasm and thoughtful contributions from everyone involved, highlighting how important it is to listen to young people’s perspectives.
We’d like to thank Jen Craft MP for visiting and for taking the time to engage so meaningfully with our learners. Experiences like this help students build confidence, communication skills, and an understanding of how politics connects to their everyday lives.
At our Thurrock Centre, we’re proud to champion learner voice and inclusion and to create opportunities for every young person to be heard.
