National Careers Week

At TCHC GAPS

National Careers Week is a fantastic opportunity to elevate the conversation around career pathways and empower learners to explore various industries. This year, our initiatives at GAPS have not only showcased the breadth of career possibilities but also provided valuable hands-on experiences for our learners.

One of the highlights was a visit from the Health and Care group in Dunstable, who took our learners on an insightful trip to a local care home. This visit helped learners understand the significant impact they can have in this essential industry. The first-hand experience served as a powerful reminder of the compassion and dedication required in health and social care roles.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Joanne, the Volunteer Coordinator at the Beehive Hub in Thurrock! 🐝 Our Thurrock GAPS learners had the incredible opportunity to learn about valuable volunteer opportunities and potential career paths right in their local area. Joanne, the Volunteer Coordinator at the Beehive Hub in Thurrock, demonstrated how volunteering can serve as a stepping stone to fulfilling careers while also enriching the community.

At our GAPS Ipswich Centre, we celebrated a successful Careers Week with guest speakers from Flagship, Eurovia, and Kier Group. Our learners benefited from their expertise, gaining knowledge about various career options in the construction and housing sectors. Engaging with industry professionals opened doors for meaningful discussions about real-world experiences and the skills needed to thrive in these sectors.

As National Careers Week wraps up, we remain committed to inspiring and empowering our learners to pursue their passions. Through the support of local businesses and community members we aim to prepare our learners for employment and help to give them a brighter future.
